ALCA Committee

I was lucky enough to be nominated onto the ALCA council in November for a 2 year term! My goals are simple for the Australian Lowline Breed – Increase Marketing & Promotion, Increase Membership & Retain Membership. I look forward to working with the current committee and being a voice for the members

Feature Show Cann Valley Takes All!

After a very successful year we finished our showing season off with a Australian Lowline Feature Show! Our very first time exhibiting at the Royal Geelong Show and boy did it pay off.  Backing up his success from Melbourne – Cann Valley Telegraph was awarded Grand Champion Bull and it didn’t stop there, he was also awarded Reserve Champion Bull in the whole Interbreed! Cann Valley New Moon continued to shine, taking our Senior, Grand & Supreme Australian Lowline Exhibit.  Her son, Cann Valley The Big Bang was crowned Calf & Junior Champion Bull.  Our heifer Cann Valley The Fire Opal was also Reserve Junior Champion Female and took on some tough competition.  To make the day even better – we were awarded Most Successful Australian Lowline Exhibitor.

Royal Melbourne Show 2023 Cann Valley takes the duo!

After much hard work, blood, sweat & tears it all payed off in the showring! Cann Valley The Big Bang was awarded first in his class and later was sold as the top priced bull in the Royal Rumble sale for $6,600.

Cann Valley The Fire Opal was awarded Reserve Junior Champion Female Cann Valley New Moon with calf at foot Cann Valley Ultimate Bang was awarded Senior & Grand Champion Female. Cann Valley Super Moon was Reserve Senior Champion Female being beat by her sister! The star of the show was our Junior Bull – Cann Valley Telegraph taking out Junior, Grand & Supreme Exhibit. Weighing a whopping 584kg with the equal highest EMA of 124cm of any Australian Lowline Bull ever scanned at a Royal Show. To top it off, for the second year in a row we were awarded Most Successful Exhibitor. This year was a little different as it was the first year I have been on the Beef Cattle Committee at Royal Melbourne, which held extra responsibility which I throughly enjoyed. I also got the opportunity to Associate Judge the Charloais Breed under the well known and esteemed judge Mr David Bonfield – what an experience.

More calves born in Belgium!

Calves are hitting the ground from our embryos we exported overseas. One extra special one is this red heifer (insert red heifer picture) out of two black parents! Rotherwood Radical (RC) & Rotherwood Quintessential Girl (RC) What amazing luck for Dieter and they are growing so well. We are so please our genetics are going gangbusters overseas and new markets have been developed successfully for this breed.
